This 3-week camp will produce a full hour-long musical, complete with costumes, lights and sets—and students are a part of all of it. With a rotation of training elements in dance, music and acting throughout the day, evenings are spent putting these skills to use as the cast and artistic team collaborate to create a complete musical. Daily attendance is vital. Teen Camp takes on more challenging materials and has 4 performances to allow performers to “grow” through the production and experience of multiple shows.

Camp: Musical Theatre – THE LIGHTNING THIEF

As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can’t control, a destiny he doesn’t want, and a mythology textbook’s worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus’s master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods.
Teen performers will participate in a full musical theatre production in this intensive, 3 week, performance training camp. Whether new to musical theatre or experienced performers, students will learn new techniques in music, acting, dance, and musical theatre. Taught by professional artists, theatre directors, and educators, daily classes will prepare students for a pre-professional environment. The camp culminates in a fully staged production of The Lightning Thief at Spindrift School with 4 public performances, complete with costumes, theatrical sets, and live music accompaniment. Once enrolled, auditions for specific roles take place the first week of camp. *During week three, additional hours may be added to the schedule for technical rehearsals, to be determined.
